Christmas Nights Tour

Can Christmas really be just two days away?! What?! The Cs have been bouncing off the walls this whole week– they can hardly contain themselves! I am equally excited to be sharing our Christmas Nights Tour today!
If you missed my “day” tours (Yes, that’s plural! I went a little photo crazy, so I split it into two parts!), you can catch part 1 here and part 2 here. But for now, onto the night tour!

I have loved getting to share our kitchen as part of our home tours this season for the first time. This space underwent a much needed overhaul this summer, and I went from dreading walking into the kitchen to smiling from ear to ear every time I see it!

I thought our little upcycled sideboard would be the perfect spot to house a little hot chocolate bar (the Cs have been huge fans of this!), my favorite part of which is our personalized monogrammed mugs from my sweet and talented friend Caitlin at Custom Decals Boutique.

The counters hold some more seasonal details, and the hexagon backsplash makes the perfect backdrop!

I need to figure out a way to incorporate twinkle lights all year round… I just love them!

Moving into the dining room, our Christmas centerpiece featured tons and tons of candles this year, and it was fun to see them all lit up and looking pretty. I think Donnie and I need to have candlelight dinners more often! {Fun fact: If you’re reading this post on the day it went live, today is our 9 year wedding anniversary! I wrote all about our Christmas wedding here.}

Side note: It was kind of tricky to photograph a bunch of candles together without having it look like the entire table was on fire. Must work on that. 🙂

If you’re new around here, we live in a small-ish townhouse, so our dining room, living room, and the Cs’ toy area are really all one big space. You can see how the living and dining areas flow together in these shots.

My most favorite thing to photograph at night has to be the tree! It makes a fun sparkly backdrop…

…and definitely makes a statement on its own as well!

This is the first year we have gone with a faux tree, and I have to admit– I kind of love it! It’s low maintenance, less fuss, and it still looks just like the real thing. You can get alllllll of the details about our tree {including the major debacle that caused us to switch from a real to artificial tree 😉 } in this post.

There is nothing better than relaxing in the living room at night time with the tree all lit up. It’s kind of enchanting.

The Cs have been chomping at the bit to rip into those gifts since I put them under the tree almost a month ago now. At first I told them they were empty boxes. Then they wised up and started shaking them, and four-year-old Caleb declared, “Hey! That sounds like Legos to me!” Oops! 🙂

For our last stop on the tour, we’ll head right up those stairs…

…to the master bedroom. I didn’t go too crazy with the decorating in this room. I just switched out a few pillows and throws and changed out a few things on our dressers and nightstands.

And that’s the grand tour! I hope you enjoyed the night version!

Thank you so much for taking the Christmas Nights Tour! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Abby I really like how you positioned the mirror behind the tree — I’ve done that in the past and it really sends the lights out farther. It’s a nice way to spread the light 🙂
Oh Abby, it is simply STUNNING!! The pictures of the kitchen and the tree… I cannot get over them. Thank you so much for sharing with us today! Merry Christmas, sweet friend. xx
I love all of the plaid Abby. GORGEOUS! The kitchen looks so pretty all a glow. Happy to be touring with you today. Merry Christmas ~Sonya
Abby, It’s all GORGEOUS. Your kitchen just glows, and the few simple pops of color are so perfect! I really love the pics of your tree. It is just lovely.

Wow! So festive and cozy. Great job on taking those night photos too. I’m guessing that wasn’t easy. Merry Christmas!
Beautiful! You may have shared this in a past post, but where did you get all the plaid?
Wow, this looks so stunning, I love it!
I’m a bit late to this post but I love your night tour! The lighting is so beautiful; I’d love to read more from you with tips on how to light your home (not just at Christmas!)
I am a little late too, but LOVE what you did to your house. Your house is gorgeous and I absolutely love the green Aga stove in the kitchen!!
