    Hi Abby!

I just wanted to let you know that I loved your disclosure page so much that I totally revamped my own! Before I had a bunch of terms and conditions copied and pasted from disclosure providing services but after reading yours I decided I didn't need all that and I wrote my own. It was heavily influenced by yours though! Thanks for the inspiration.

I love the bookcases for your office. I've been preparing to make myself a girly office as well and have been searching for white bookcases with moulding like this for over a month to no avail. I'm inspired to make my own now- where did you get the bookcases and crown moulding? I found a bookcase like the one in your photo from staples, but I didnt see that moulding on lowes website. Can you direct me? Thanks

Thanks so much for your quick reply! Do you have a link to purchase the same ones you used or could you tell me what store you purchased them from? They look exactly like the ones on a high end bookcase that inspired my hunt to buy or make a bookcase like this and I'm in love with the detail. Simply gorgeous.

I am reading through your "7 day start a blog challenge" and you said that you read other blogs' disclosure pages. I have checked several different blogs that I read regularly, and I cannot find a disclosure page. Would you mind to share a few that you know have policies up?

Also, where do you post your policies? Do you just link them in each post, or is there a link elsewhere? I haven't seen your link anywhere on the actual page, so I'm wondering if it's just in each post? Or perhaps in posts that you need to disclose that you're getting compensated for?

    Thanks!

Hi, Holly! Great questions. I link to my disclosure page in any post that has an affiliate link or is sponsored. There is also a link to my disclosures page at the very bottom of my sidebar. To find others' disclosure or policy pages, I would look in their navigation bar or their footer. If you can't find them there, you can do a search in their search bar or look for a sponsored post they've done and they'll probably have linked to it somewhere. As for some examples, Money Saving Mom's policy is here: https://moneysavingmom.com/disclosure-policy , Tatertots and Jello's is here: https://tatertotsandjello.com/about/disclosures , and 100 Days of Real Food's is here: https://www.100daysofrealfood.com/privacy-policy/ . Amanda also talked about hers in the comment below. I hope this helps!

I have no idea what to say in a disclosure statement. Is there somewhere I can copy and paste a general statement? I checked Hyatt's site and all of those statements are made for posts in my opinion and not the blog as a whole.

Hi Abby! I love how personal your disclosure page sounds. It's straightforward without all the legal jumbo that using up three hundred pages of fine print. Question? Where/How do you compose the disclaimer so that it only shows as a link at the bottom footer and not as a new page at the top of my header. Every time I try to publish it, it shows up in some weird uninvited place hahaha. Thank you- Deanna

Hi Deanna, I saw your post as I was commenting on this feed as well. I just addressed the same issue on my website- so thought I might be able to help. If you're using WordPress, you can go to your dashboard, down to appearance, and then to menus. You should be able to create a new menu for your disclosure page and place it in your footer. If you've used this section to create your header menu, you can also edit that menu to exclude your disclosure page. Additionally, if you don't want new pages to automatically add to your header menu you can change that default setting as well. Hope that helps (and Abby, I hope it was okay I chimed in)!

I'm currently going through your building a framework course, and just getting started with my blog. I'm an attorney, and as such know how important disclosures are! But I also hate when it's just a bunch of "legalese". I love that you cover all the necessary elements, but do so in a personal, blog-appropriate way that is engaging and friendly! Your's is by far my favorite disclosure page I have seen so far. Thanks for inspiring me to make mine more personal as well!

Hi, I'm sorry if this question is a repeat. You write that you only give honest opinions of items given for use and considerstion. But I don't see any negative reviews. If you get some gizmo and it is crappy, how will we learn from your experience if it isn't written up? Or have you only had 100% great experiences with everything sent to you? Can you point out some negative reviews in your blog, if I missed them?
    Thanks,
    Dave

Hi, Dave! My policy has been that if I don't like a product that I have been sent, I go to the company who sent it and let them know. They can then choose to go forward with the post, knowing what I will say about the product, or we can cancel the partnership, which is typically what they choose. So the reason you won't find many negative reviews here is that those products that I would give negative reviews haven't made the cut to be featured on my blog. I like to keep it upbeat and positive around here, so I stick to sharing things I truly love and believe in. I hope this helps!

    Hi Abby,

I love your disclosure page. it's so easy to understand. your 10-day free email course on creating a blog has been a huge help for me to start my own blog http://www.1stepfurther.com. I still have a lot of things to be done with my blog including a disclosure page. I read in one of your comment that you suggest a free disclosure policy generator in google, and I tried it. However, it is very long and not so easy to understand.
I have a question and apologize for my very limited knowledge regarding this disclosure and privacy policy, but If we use a third party when readers want to subscribe to our blog, does it means their name and email address is stored on the third party server and not ours? Therefore we can say that "we do not share readers personal information to third parties, and so on?"
I just started blogging and haven't put any post that has an affiliate marketing contents. However, I want to monetize it if possible someday and it's a good idea to have a good disclosure page. thank you once again for everything 🙂

Hi, Kinanthi! The phrase "we do not share readers' personal information to third parties" means that you do not sell the email addresses you collect to another company that will send marketing emails to those addresses. I'm pretty positive that you're not doing that with your blog, so you would be safe using that phrase! I hope this helps!

    Hello Abby,

I am in the really beginning stages of my blog (it's been launched for barely 4 days, and I'm almost finished my disclosure policy), but what's confused me is that I'm using a third party site as well. Do I have to disclose the policies of the third party or do I just fashion one for my site? As I have read their policy, their agreement is with me, but how can I tell if they are using anything from my readers, as well? I am using your Building a Framework course, and I truly love it! I have wanted to create a blog for over four years, and have never done it, and now I am truly seeing how absolutely complicated it can be. Thank God for your guidance! But I don't want to be in any legal trouble by not doing things correctly. Thank you for your help! http://www.ahelpinghandbyursula.com

I did! If you need help with your disclosure policy, https://disclosurepolicy.org/ has some great resources. Good luck!

Hi there! The theme we use is called Brunch Pro by Feast Design Co. and the blog font is Roboto Slab. Headings are Lato. The font for my logo is called Carolyna Pro. I hope this helps!
