Our Classic Christmas Tree | JustAGirlAndHerBlog.com

A huge thanks to Balsam Hill for providing product for this post! My favorable opinion of gorgeous Christmas trees and decorations is 100% my own. 🙂 For more information, see my disclosures here.

Today is the day! I've been hinting around on Instagram for a few weeks that our Christmas tree is up, and today I finally get to share it with all of you! Yippee! I am so delighted to be joining 11 amazing bloggers to bring you Balsam Hill's "12 Bloggers of Christmas" tour! If you haven't seen any of the trees yet this week, you are in for a real treat. These ladies are incredibly talented, and each tree has had a beautiful, unique style all its own!

Last year I completely omitted red from our Christmas color scheme, and while I still liked our decor, I definitely missed the classic Christmas feel, so that is what I went for this year. Along with a new color palette, this is the first year we have used an artificial tree, and I. Am. LOVING it!!!

You see, last year I sent Donnie and Connor out to choose a tree on their own. It was freezing and I didn't want to drag baby Caleb out in the bad weather, so we trusted the big boys to find the perfect tree for us. When they brought the tree they had selected inside and set it up on the stand, I burst out laughing. It was wider than it was tall. It took up the majority of the room. And it was pretty much the ugliest thing I had ever seen. Oh and within about three minutes of us setting it up in the tree stand, it fell over because it was so fat that it could not hold up its own weight. We laughed so hard we cried. And then I sent Donnie out to get a second tree. 🙂

So to avoid all of that crazy {albeit hilarious} drama, this year we went with Balsam Hill's 6.5' Pinehurst Spruce Instant Evergreen tree, and we could not be more thrilled with how it turned out. It was so simple to assemble-- we literally just slid the three pieces together, did a little fluffing, and we were done!

Our Classic Christmas Tree | JustAGirlAndHerBlog.com

I am always a little concerned with size when it comes to Christmas trees since our house is on the small side, but the Pinehurst Spruce is nice and full while still being narrow enough (51") that it doesn't overpower the room. Oh and is it gorgeous! I was shocked that when I put the real greenery from our gift toppers right next to the artificial branches, they were so close in comparison!

I had so much fun dressing up the tree! Along with classic red velvet ribbon, I mixed our metallic ornaments in with beautiful glass ornaments from Balsam Hill's Mistletoe and Holly Set and added some gold beads to top everything off.

Around the tree I added more classics like plaid and red satin ribbon and pretty lights anywhere I could squeeze them in! 🙂

Did you spy our little DIY Advent calendar hiding under the bench?

While I love the tree during the day, I think it truly becomes magical at night! The soft glow of the lights makes me want to snuggle up under a blanket, turn on some Christmas music, and sip some hot chocolate. 🙂

Good stuff (as always) Abby, and I have found over the years that, no matter what your color scheme is, there's just something about red and green at Christmas! Looks beautiful!

When I was a child, we had red and gold Christmas decoration almost every year. I got totally bored with it and promised myself, I would never have these colors. Khm... what have I bought this year? Red, red and red 😀 Yes, the color interprets as Christmas 🙂

Your tree turned out gorgeous!!! I have started to take out the red in my decor, but there is really something about. I love how the plaid packages really pull everything together. I hope you have a lovely thanksgiving!

Abby, Your tree is beautiful! I love that your Christmas decorations are classic. I have the same pillow from the Target dollar bin! Red is timeless and evokes a feeling of Christmas! Fully agree about a tree lit at night, it makes me want to just snuggle in. Love your blog!
