2016 Christmas Nights Tour
Well, we’ve come to the end of this year’s Christmas posts! For the past few years I’ve participated in a Christmas Nights Tour, and I’m delighted to show you our first night tour of Orchard House today!
Today is actually a very special day in our house. You see, 10 years ago today I was standing in our church in a big white gown, saying “I do” to my very best friend. 🙂 (You can read all about our Christmas wedding here.)

We look like such babies! Eeek! Anyway, on to the tour!

Porch

This Christmas season in our new house has been full of “firsts,” including the first time I actually had a significant outdoor area to decorate! It was fun to dress up our porch a little bit for the season, and we’ve really enjoyed hanging out in this cozy space (when the Pittsburgh weather permits)!

We kept things simple this year with a pre-lit garland + mini trees, and I love how they helped to create such a welcoming entrance for guests who pass through our door during this holiday season!

Entry + Dining Room

As you enter our house, you’re met with a small entry area. The piece of furniture I’ve ordered for this space hasn’t arrived yet, so I snagged this dresser that was in the boys’ old room as a placeholder for now. It was the perfect little surface to add some holiday cheer!

The sign was a DIY project from my very first year of blogging, and I think I’ve used it every year since! I love that it reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas from the first moment we walk into the house!

If you look across the way from the entry, you can see our Christmas dining room just beyond the stairs.

I had added a little strand of silver bulb lights to our centerpiece, and they give off such a nice warm glow at night along with the rest of the lights.

And I can’t forget about our hutch! It is truly one of my favorite pieces in our whole house, and I love changing out its contents for each season.

The Tree
If we head back over to the entry and down the little hallway, we’ll reach our living room, which houses our tree.

If you hadn’t noticed yet, I kind of have a thing for buffalo check and plaid this Christmas season! 🙂 This is our second year using our Pinehurst Spruce from Balsam Hill, and I feel like we get the look of a real tree without the mess– win-win!

(I promise that little red truck just hopped into my cart at Target all on its own one day. I had nothing to do with it. 😉 )

Our living room is one of the first spaces on the list to get a little facelift, so I can’t wait to show you more of it soon.

Sunroom

And finally, I couldn’t resist putting a little mini tree in our sunroom as well! (Along with those cozy slippers… I bought them for me, but the boys keep stealing them because they’re so comfortable!)
