Three Pretty Pumpkins by Just a Girl and Her Blog

It's pumpkin week at Get Your DIY On! I have been so excited for this one, guys. I bought these cheap-o orange pumpkins at Wal-Mart waaaaaaayyy back in August, and I just couldn't wait to prettify them.

Three Pretty Pumpkins by Just a Girl and Her Blog

They started out all plain and boring, but I had a unique plan for each one. I wasn't going to leave any of them orange, so I began by giving them each a coat of spray primer. {In my garage. Clearly the floor in there is gorgeous. :-/}

Once they were primed, I painted one gold, one silver, and one shiny black. "Oh here she goes again," you're thinking, "Does this girl spray paint everything gold?" Answer: pretty much. Be proud that only one of the three is gold. And be impressed that neither of my children have been spray painted gold yet. 😉

Then they all got some pretty little details. The silver one, though it's hard to see, received several coats of spray glitter. I also added a black bow for a little touch of class.

I like to call the next one "Black and Bling." I may have almost lost a couple finger tips attaching the jewels with my hot glue gun, but I love how fancy schmancy it looks!

And finally, the Golden Witch. The Cs spotted this little witch's hat when we were in Michael's the other day, and I thought it would be perfect to dress up our little gold pumpkin. So while I had the spray paint out, I painted it black, gave it a little gold detail, and plunked it on the pumpkin!

Once they were all prettied up and ready to go, I took them outside to adorn my new shiny black bench. {They took over for my little scarecrow when he was whisked away to MOPS.}

It actually kind of looks like we're getting into the Halloween spirit around here, doesn't it?! And I think my three pretty pumpkins are the perfect compliment to our glam fall wreath. Yippee!

This was such a simple project {my favorite kind!}, but it is still quite the "before and after" transformation:

    Oh my goodness, I wanted to do the same thing with the rhinestones but just never got around to it! Now I wish I had the time and the weather would warm up... but I'm having my son tomorrow and probably should focus on that instead. I'm definitely doing it next year!!! My daughter took my pumpkins and painted them then added some glitter glue to them. She's 4, so you can imagine what they look like... bright and colorful and I wouldn't have it any other way.

    I'm definitely loving the black and rhinestone one though.... I must remember this post for next year!

      CONGRATULATIONS! How exciting that your son will be here tomorrow! Little boys are the best! And from the sounds of it, your little girl is pretty sweet herself! How fun that she's doing her own craft projects! Good luck with everything tomorrow! I'll be praying for you!

    Wish I had our pumpkins done in time for the link party! Alas, we won't get to them until this weekend. That little gold-tipped witch hat is awesome and reminds me of a pair of shoes I'm coveting! The sparkling pumpkin is fab too. Love it!

    These turned out fabulous, Abby! You are so creative. I have yet to prettify any pumpkins this year...all of the ones on our porch are plain ol' boring orange. I may be too late to do anything about that this year, but I think you've just inspired me for next year! 😉

    Beautiful pumpkins, Abby! I love them all! Especially the golden witch. Although, the silver one with the bow is pretty cute too. What am I saying! I love them all! They definitely match your shiny bench and glam wreath. They look very halloweeny in a glam sort of way. I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Are you taking the boys out trick or treatin'?
