Our Christmas Home Tour- Part Deux

Welcome back, friend! We’re so glad you were able to come again– the Cs and I have been waiting all day for you to arrive! {If you have no idea what I’m talking about, be sure to pop over and check out part one of our Christmas home tour! 😉 } If my memory serves me correctly, I believe we left off at… the tree!

I know I told you all about the details of our tree during the first part of the tour, but what you may not have noticed was that the tree is part of a whole big Christmas extravaganza happening in that part of our home!

This area normally serves as the Cs’ play area, and all of those cute little cubby holes are usually filled to the brim with toys. I was feeling really Christmas-y, though, in anticipation of you coming over, so I decided to do a little impromptu redecorating.

The cubbies have now been transformed with cute little Christmas vignettes, and while they may not last long at the hands of the Cs, they will certainly add a bit of holiday cheer while they’re up!

The top of the storage unit holds one of our nativity scenes, along with the 3 special gifts from the wise men: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Now if you read this blog on a regular basis, you’re probably saying to yourself, “Hey! I thought that bunting banner was made out of burlap!” And you would be right. It was. But it just wasn’t fitting in with the rest of our Christmas decor like I had hoped, so I did a little switcheroo. I think the new one suits the space a lot better.

Moving on to the far wall, you’ll see our Christmas shelf decor and DIY advent calendar, which the Cs just cannot get enough of. They just love pulling out their little verse cards and chocolate each day!

The bottom shelf holds some simple DIY art as well as some glasses filled with Christmas fun– ornaments and jingle bells!

And I just couldn’t resist sneaking in one of my sparkly little deer next to the mini tree. I think I literally bought every one of these that our dollar store had, and they are sprinkled throughout our Christmas decor this year.

The top shelf houses a framed faux Christmas wreath, which is highlighted by some pinecones and even more metallic ornaments.

Before you go, we have one more stop to make, and it’s a cozy one! Let’s plop down on the couch and chat a while, okay?

{I know what you’re thinking: “Abby, are there any vessels in your house that you did not fill with metallic ornaments?” Answer: no. 😀 }

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing all of the details about these sweet little festive pillows, so make sure you come back to check them out! You will not believe what they are made out of!
What’s your holiday decorating style? Traditional? Simple? Over the top? Eclectic? Tell me about it!

Hi Abby! I absolutely love the first photo of you and the C’s!! Everything looks just beautiful and the silver and white is just lovely! I love your Christmas tour. The first picture of you and your sons is so adorable. I have a question, that multi-cubby shelf unit you have in a few of the pictures, where is that from? I really would like something like that for my boys’ playroom (I have two little guys as well) or maybe my 5 year-old’s bedroom. Thanks!
Thanks, Jamie! The shelving unit is part of the Expedit series from IKEA. They have them in a bunch of different sizes! My hubby has a smaller one in his office, and I’m eyeing up one of the big ones for my craft room– we love them! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Love part deux of your tour as well! Love the pillows especially. I used ornaments in containers as well…so festive (and easy)! Have a great week 🙂 XO
Lol! It takes a LOT of shots to get one where there’s no blur, believe me! My oldest is getting better, but the little one is a total wild man when it comes to taking pictures. He usually sneaks in one of his “treasures” too…like the blocks in this one. 😀 Thanks so much, Christy, Have a great weekend!
