Christmas Hutch Decor

I've always wanted to style my dining room hutch for different holidays but wasn't sure how-- this post gives so many great ideas and makes it simple! My hutch is going to look beautiful for Christmas! Click through for so many awesome ideas! | JustAGirlAndHerBlog.com

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Now, some people get excited about shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. Not this girl. I have something else on my mind. You see, since Black Friday kicks off the start of the holiday season, I get most excited not about shopping, but about decorating! And of course one of the areas of my home that I can’t wait to get to is my dining room hutch.

You’ve seen the hutch look many different ways over the past few months. It was aqua and white for fall

Then I added some copper accents for Thanksgiving

And now here we are at Christmas already! Like the rest of my Christmas decor this year, I went with a “classic Christmas” look– lots of red, green, and white with metallic accents here and there.

Not only do I love traditional holiday colors because they remind me of fun memories from Christmases past, but I also love them because they were my wedding colors! Donnie and I got married two days before Christmas almost nine (!) years ago, and with a wedding date of December 23rd, your color scheme is pretty much picked for you. I’m honestly not usually a red girl, but I loved it for our big day!

I actually wrote a little series about our Christmas wedding here if you’d like to check out the details. 🙂

As usual, I mostly used items I had around the house to decorate the hutch for the season. Along with our white dishes and a few silver-y ones, I added in some red and metallic ornaments from my stash, extra berry sprigs I had leftover from decorating other spaces, and some fresh greens that my dad, the outdoorsman, was nice enough to gather for me on one of his trips into the woods.

The monogrammed mug was a Home Goods find and I’m not sure I’ve actually used it for drinking yet– just for decorating! Because priorities. 🙂

Deep in my Christmas bins, I found this cute little tricycle. I love when I find little pieces that I have forgotten about! It is the perfect size for the hutch and is just so cute!

I topped off the whole thing with a little felt ball garland that I snagged from Home Decorator’s Collection– the perfect finishing touch!

I’ve enjoyed seeing you transform your hutch over the seasons, Abby. The Christmas version is simply adorable!! It’s such a wonderful mix of the colors of Christmas and textures. And that little tricycle puts it over the top!! LOVE!! OH! BTW… I have that same mug and I LOVE it! Not only does it hold a lot… but I will never have to worry about knocking my chai over and spilling it on my keyboard… so good careless for me.

    Wishing you a blessed Christmas!

It’s official… I need a hutch in my home to decorate. I just don’t know where I would put it. My mom has an amazing one that she wants to give me, but I just don’t have the room right now. I loved your copper accents for fall and the Christmas touches are just as cute. That trike is AMAZING! So festive!

Abby, I love how you change up the hutch for the seasons. I don’t look good in the color red, but I absolutely love it in my holiday decor. Happy Holidays to you! PS- love that garland, never saw it in the catelog. I would actually like to make some one of these days.

  11. Such a sweet collection, and it truly is all about the memories. This year I went in the opposite direction and completely left tradition in the wind. It was a bold move but I absolutely love it!

  12. Your hutch has looked beautiful every season but I especially love the colors you chose for Christmas. I also love the felt ball garland! I made one this Christmas too, mine is red, black and white. Can’t wait to see the rest of your home decked out for Christmas!
