A Decked and Styled Spring Dining Room
Today I am so excited to continue sharing our home all decorated for spring as part of the Decked + Styled Spring Tour, hosted by Bree at ZDesign at Home! If you’re just popping over from Bree’s place, welcome!! (Isn’t her home absolutely stunning?!)
I thought I’d show you around our spring dining room for today’s tour, so c’mon in!

When I think of spring, I think of clean, fresh, and simple, so that’s how I decided to decorate our home this season. You can see our dining room table as soon as you walk through the front door, so I wanted it to look pretty and inviting without being too fussy.
I grabbed four candle holders from Hobby Lobby and used 3 white pitchers as vases for flowers, and I had a simple and beautiful centerpiece! And speaking of flowers…
I may have a weakness for the floral section at Trader Joe’s. I can’t seem to walk past it without grabbing a bunch or two!
I actually went in looking for blue hydrangeas this time around, but when I spied the pink and purple, I knew they’d be perfect!
My hutch is one of my most favorite pieces to decorate each season. It used to be my grandmother’s, so that makes it extra special! I love playing around with different configurations of dishware and accessories until I get it just right…
…which almost always involves a lot of aqua. I just can’t quit that color! 🙂
I really feel like our house is in its “truest state” in the spring. I love pastels + lots of neutrals, and they just seem to fit the spring season so well. And my boys don’t seem to mind the pink too much…
I already tucked a few little eggs into the bowls in preparation for Easter– it will be here before we know it!
My DIY “In Christ Alone” canvases did a brief stint in the living room, but I recently moved them back into the dining room. (I tend to move the wall art around a lot in our house, much to Donnie’s chagrin– thank goodness he loves me!) The words to this song are always such an encouragement to me!
Eventually I want to find a small buffet-type piece for underneath the canvases, but I haven’t found the perfect one yet! We actually have a bunch of projects planned for this room– trimming out the windows, painting, building a new table… All in good time!
The one project we’ve already done in this space since moving in this past fall was adding the plantation shutters, and we love them! (They are from SelectBlinds— I talked about the design and installation process in this post.)
So that’s it! It’s amazing how much a few little seasonal touches can cheer up a space!

Abby, I have some dark furniture in my house and I was thinking of painting it white. All because of your influence.
But now I can see some dark pieces of furniture do go quite nicely with white furnishings a well.
Love the look of your dining room.
Thanks so much, Barbara! Hope you’re having a wonderful week! <3

Abby, I’m going to have to make a run to Hobby Lobby for those candlesticks – I saw similar ones I really wanted from Pottery Barn but they were the big bucks! Love your beautiful table and hutch – perfect for spring!
Yes! I love them! Thanks so much, Kris! <3

I love that your artwork does “brief stints” in places and then changes locations! Keeps things interesting! Happy Friday. 🙂
Lol! Donnie probably doesn’t agree, but I do! 🙂 Happy weekend, Katie!

I love the panels you made with the lyrics from Christ Alone are you going to do a diy project post on those. That is one of my favorites as well and I would love to do something like that.
Thanks so much, Tracey! My favorite, too! 🙂

Oh my goodness I absolutely adore the colours <3 just a little worried all the white would quickly become dirty if there are kids around… I'm moving into my own house soon and loving this for inspiration!
Thanks so much, Isabelle! <3 Good luck with the move!

Very beautiful, Abby! Very elegant, minimalistic and cosy.
Thank you!

Thanks, Abby, I enjoy getting your emails every week. I’ve been trying to spring clean around my house. It’s still 33 degrees outside so spring hasn’t quite arrived here yet in Utah. I’m looking forward to your webinar on Tuesday.

OMG, I am completely in love with that hutch Abby! It’s gorgeous, and you styled it beautifully 🙂 I’ve been meaning to do some decorating around the house and now I’m much more inspired. Thanks for sharing!

Abby,
Thanks for the Spring inspiration. I will be ding mine soon, and it’s always fun to see what others are doing.

I love your panels of “In Christ Alone”. That is my husband’s favorite song. Is it possible to buy them from you or have you make a set for me? I looked at your DIY to make them but it looks too hard for me. Let me know if I could buy them from you.
Thanks,
Hi, Alice! I don’t really make custom signs but I would check on Etsy! I bet you could find something similar!
