Owl Valentine Teacher Gift by Just a Girl and Her Blog

Connor is one spoiled boy. He has been blessed with three wonderful preschool teachers this year and is really enjoying his time in school. We truly appreciate all they do for him and his classmates and wanted to put together a sweet gift to give them for Valentine's Day.

So since I am loving owls these days, I used that as my jumping off point, and this is what we came up with!

Here's what I used to make this cute little owl Valentine for his teachers:

  • 1 1/2" and 5/8" circle punches
  • Hole punch
  • Adhesive dots (similar to these)
  • Clear cupcake boxes (purchased here)
  • Chocolate Hugs & Kisses (plan for one 10 ounce bag per gift)
  • Baker's twine
  • Scrapbook paper in various colors
  • Printable tags (available below)

I started out by making the base of my owl. I drew the first one freehand, cut it out, and traced it to make the other two. {I'm no artist, but this shape is simple-- it's basically a big "U" that points at the top with a bump connecting the two points.} Then just cut them out!

I wanted to use the "belly" area of the owl for my message, so I whipped up some simple circle tags and printed them on white card stock. {There are 3 witty phrases to choose from! 🙂 } You are welcome to use my 2" circles below, or if you'd like to make your own, my labels tutorial can help you create some in Microsoft Word.

Once I had my tags printed and cut, I began assembling my owls...

Owl Valentine Teacher Gifts by Just a Girl and Her Blog
  1. I secured my tag to the center of my owl base, toward the bottom.
  2. I made the eyes by punching out circles with my 3 sizes of hole punches-- 1 1/2" sparkly white circles for the bottom layer, 5/8" dark blue circles for the middle layer, and tiny white circles for the top layer.
  3. I added a little brown beak and some feet.
  4. I cut wings from some textured pink paper, put them on with my glue dots, and I had a cute little owl!

To create the final gift, I filled my clear box with Hugs and Kisses, punched a little hole in the owl's wing, and used baker's twine to attach my owl to the box.

Cute, cute, CUTE!! I love these because they're really easy to make but are still a thoughtful and adorable preset. I know Con can't wait to give his owl Valentine teacher gift!

I am sorry I commented then clicked the "I commented button". So to answer the question why do you love target.....the town I live is has only had a target about 7 months. I love it because it has a scrapbooking isle. Actually I have been doing my grocery shopping there rather than Walmart. The hubs has been working during the week out of town and has been eating lots of soup. With the cartwheel, coupons by Target and sales they have we have saved much $.

My experience has been that Target is a nicer store than Walmart. Cleaner.

I love Target because they have everything I need all in one place! They have higher quality products than Wal-Mart and their furniture/decor is absolutely the best!!

Thank you for sharing your fantastic printable plans but more importantly thank you so so much for sharing your breast cancer awareness story. I’m In remission from triple negative breast cancer, thankfully as I have 2 teenage daughters I do not carry either BRCA gene. Please please ladies and gents as they too can get breast cancer check and look for anything unusual but also check lying flat as it was the only way I found my lump. Thanks again for all your fantastic printable forms and raising awareness xox
