We're decking the halls, starting with our pastel Christmas mudroom decor! Get inspiration for decorating your own home for the holidays in this post!
I am so delighted to be joining a bunch of my favorite blogging friends today to share our mantels and vignettes all decked out for the holidays! A big thank you to the incredibly talented Krista from The Happy Housie for hosting us!
If you just popped over from Jenna Kate at Home, welcome! Isn't Jenna's mantel just beautiful?!
Now, I realize that we're supposed to be sharing our mantels today, but... we don't have one. No fireplace = no mantel, sadly.
But what I definitely made sure we had in this house was a bunch of shelves. They are some of my favorite things to decorate for each season!
So my mudroom shelf (and built-ins in general) will be playing the role of my mantel today, and I'm not mad about it! It was so fun to decorate this little space for the holidays!
C'mon in!
Pastel Christmas Decor in the Mudroom

I admit that I've never been big on red. I'll break it out every once in a while at Christmastime, but it is not really in my normal color wheel. So for the past few years, I've decided to forego red altogether. Oops.
While it may not be exactly traditional, we're going with a pastel color palette for our Christmas decor this year. I'm bringing in the aquas and blush pinks that I love so much!
I've never actually decorated our mudroom seasonally before, but this small space was just begging for a cute vignette, so I decided to try it out this year.
True, it may not be the most practical setup in the world, but it was fun to make it look pretty, even if it's just for a little while!
I've known I've wanted to do pastel Christmas for a few years now, but it has taken me a little while to gather up all of the pieces I've needed to make it happen! Christmas decor in non-traditional colors is definitely tougher to track down than regular red and green.
I would just keep an eye out for anything cute in the color scheme I was envisioning and picked up pieces here and there when I would find them.
It made it a little easier that I use a lot of aqua and some other pastels in my everyday decor anyway. I could just mix in my everyday pieces with the overtly Christmas-y stuff.
When in Doubt, Add Ornaments
While in the fall I think the easiest way to bring in a bit of the season is to add in a few pumpkins, the easiest way to make a space feel a little more festive at Christmas is to add ornaments. (Preferably bunches and bunches of them!)
They're great for filling lanterns, boxes, or other vessels, sitting on their own, adding to wreaths and garlands, and more!
(I found most of the ornaments in this space at Hobby Lobby. They are usually really good about having options in a bunch of different color schemes.)
As I learned with our Christmas mudroom decor, a space doesn't have to be huge to get a little touch of holiday spirit! I'm excited to carry our pastel Christmas color scheme through the rest of the rooms of the house as well!
Do you decorate with traditional Christmas colors? Or do you change it up and bring in non-traditional colors as well? Let me know in the comments below!

So pretty, Abby! I love the colors you've used in your mudroom! So darn cute!!!
Thank you so much, friend! Hope you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
This is so beautiful, love the pops of blue!
Aw, thanks so much, Kristin! Hope you're having a great week! <3

That is one adorable mudroom and a great improvisation for not having a mantel. Thank you for sharing your non-traditional space!
Thanks so much for hosting this fun hop and for your sweet words, Krista! Have a great week!
I love looking at all the non traditional Christmas decorations, they are so pretty. Your mud room is beautiful. However, in my own home it is traditional all they way. I also mix in vintage decorations. Some are from my grandparents, some are from antique shops. Green and gold are already a part of my color scheme.. I just have to removed most of the cobalt blue.
I'm sure your home looks beautiful! Our house growing up was always more traditional and I loved it. 🙂 Hope you have a great week, Debbie!

I love this! I'm in the same boat as you, I prefer pastels for Christmas. Decorate with the colors that make you happy, right? 🙂
EXACTLY! 🙂 Have a great week, Ashley!

Dear Abby, Thank you so much for your mudroom pictures. It inspired me to decorate my home's entryway. I've never had a tiny covered porch before so I had not thought to decorate it. When I saw your mudroom, though, the wheels started turning and I now have an adorable entryway. Even if the rest of the house doesn't get all finished, the first greeting one gets is all family happy-making! The children can start arriving now!
Yay! I'm sure your entryway looks beautiful! Have a wonderful holiday with your kids! <3
