So a few months ago I wrote this little teeny itty bitty eBook for bloggers called Building a Framework. It was my first eBook, and I was pretty nervous about how the whole launch thing would go. It ended up going better than I ever could have imagined, but that never would have been the case without my amazing bloggy friends who helped me along the way. One of my biggest cheerleaders throughout the process was my dear friend Lauren from The Thinking Closet, and today I am delighted to be the one cheering her on as she is launching her very first eBook this week!!!
Lauren has many awesome talents, but one that doesn't take long to discover is her amazing heart for gift giving. She always seems to have the perfect gift for every person in her life, and when she realized that others often struggled with finding the perfect gift, she decided to put all of her secrets in eBook form so that no one would ever have to worry about picking out a gift again!
I had the privilege to preview Thinking Outside the Gift Box, and not only did I come away with tons of wonderful gift ideas, I was also totally inspired to give more gifts-- even just small things-- to those around me. Lauren mixes personal anecdotes in with practical tips and ideas, making the book not only very, very helpful, but an extremely enjoyable read as well!
AND I am so super excited today because in celebration of her big eBook launch, Lauren is offering up a giveaway basket for one lucky Just a Girl and Her Blog reader!! Woohoo!
What's inside? Well, only Lauren's favorite gift giving supplies, of course! Here's the run-down:
- gift bags
- tissue paper
- gift tags
- gold & silver gel pens
- 2 rolls of washi tape
- ribbon trio
- 3 rolls of baker's twine
- confetti
- a rubber stamp
- metallic ink stamp pad
- regular scissors
- scrapbooking scissors
- double-sided tape
Basically, your holiday gift wrap is going to be rockin' this year. All that you need now is some inspiration to get your gift creating started. And she's totally got you covered there, too...
...because the winner will also receive a free copy of Thinking Outside the Gift Box, plus all the extra goodies that come with the premium package like video interviews {I may or may not make an appearance in one of those! 😉 }, a birthday and anniversary calendar, brainstorming printables, and so much more. {You can see a full rundown here.}
And speaking of those videos that I may or may not appear in... Lauren has given me permission to share a little 5 minute sneak peek with you! Full Disclosure: I received a free preview copy of Lauren's eBook in order to share this review. However, all opinions are my own. I only recommend products or services I personally use and believe my readers will love.
id love to win this, wrapping gifts and making them pretty is one of my favorite things!
I love when my husband brings me flowers...mostly because he never buys them, he pulls over on the road and picks wildflowers for me instead....so sweet! However, we are both getting a very meaningful gift in a few months...our first child! I can't imagine a better gift to receive in life than a baby....so excited!! PS - Love your blog!
I love giving "meaningful" gifts! Things I know they will love and use! This looks like a fantastic book and the basket is awesome!
What a fun giveaway!
Every Christmas my husband gives me a new heart ornament for the Christmas tree -- so sweet! He also picks out and wraps a special ornament for each of my daughters. They each already have a pretty big collection of their own ornaments now!
This is such a unique and creative giveaway! It is adorable!
I am smiling from ear to ear after reading your encouraging words. I feel forever indebted to you for the boatloads and boatloads of help you sent my way - - from tips on how to write an eBook to the technical side to allowing me to interview you. (I can't believe it's the first video you've ever shared. You rocked it, girl! Such a natural.) I probably need to go back and count how many questions I asked you and send you a tin of cookies for every one. You are truly one of the most generous people I have ever known!
I also love gift - giving! Whether it's a list of things I appreciate about the person, a photo scrap book, or even a more expensive gift. I give my husband a gift each day in December up until the 25th, they're fun and inexpensive until the end but they keep us both smiling!
What a great giveaway. I am a big believer that packaging a gift is just as important as the gift itself.
I love putting together gifts like this almost as much as I love receiving them! It's so fun to not just get one gift, but a whole basket of fun stuff. Great ideas!
I love my Bible bag that one of my best friends gave me for my birthday last year!
I know people who give just the perfect gift - I am not one of them, but certainly would love to be!
I know just the perfect person that would love this book!! you did great on your video 😉
SUCH a fun and creative giveaway!!! HUGE congrats to Lauren!!!
Aw, thanks, Kristi! You're too kind. Best of luck to you!
What a cute basket! I love seeing bloggers connect to do awesome giveaways!!
Meaningful gifts are usually always the homemade ones or the ones with the little extra touches. It shows that people really put the time in it, and that they care!
The most meaningful gift I ever received was a birthday gift my husband gave me. He asked all my friends and family to write a short note to me saying happy birthday and a memory they had of me. He put it all together in an album and whenever I'm feeling down, I go look through that album and it makes me smile.
Wow, what a superhero of a gift giver. I love that idea! Thanks for sharing, Rebecca.
I may faint from excitement!!!!! Oh, such hope for winning!!!
Lol. I love that reaction! Though I don't really want you to faint. Best of luck!
What an awesome idea-a true gift basket! Perfect timing for the holidays!
I am SOOOO excited to have found your blog and all your other blogger friends. I am turning over a new leaf and taking hold of my house and my budget. I have gained so much helpful knowledge and can't wait for more great ideas. Thank you for sharing your ideas and life!!
You both look great, no worries about the video 🙂
Thanks, Julie! You're too kind!
I'd like to say that I love your blog, Abby! You give such great, doable ideas that still make caring for your home and your family special! I get your updates by email and they almost always have some practical tip that you don't have to be Martha Stewart or Bob Villa to do them successfully! Thanks for your blog and the challenge that it gives me that things can still be pretty and special in everyday life! Blessings to you and your family!
So creative, from advice to giveaway!
It was so fun to see you girls in real life. I love Lauren and I know you were a tremendous help to her in getting her book published. Now you need to write your second ebook: How to write an ebook! 🙂
Aw, I love you, too, Christy! And I second that motion about Abby's next eBook! She is truly a FONT of wisdom in that arena.
I would love to have a copy of your book! I love you blog and I'm so
happy I found it.
yay!! My favorite kind of giveaway!!
The most meaningful gift I have been given would probably be my children!
Would LOVe to win this! Gift giving is something that I look forward to every year at every occassion and over the years I have gotten a lot better at finding/making unique gifts that aren't the norm but I could always use more "out of the box" ideas! Thanks so much for this post and for the giveaway! Fingers x'd! 😀
I love getting and giving handmade gifts!
Hi I just stumbled across your blog... great blog. Wishing you continued success with your e-book Abby and all the best to your friend with her new e-book as well - it looks like a great read! - Trish
Thanks for the well wishes, Trisha! You're so sweet!
The most meaningful gift I ever received was my piano. It was a high school graduation gift, after I was accepted into University for music. Now I teach and work out of a home studio built around my piano. Reminds me that the foundation of whatever success I have is built on my parents support.
Olivia, I got the chills reading your comment. What a beautiful way to think about it. Thank you for sharing!
Ooh, gifting is my love language! I love giving gifts and am always looking of new ideas- I'm gonna need to get my hands on that book...
Yay! Love finding others who share my same love language. Hope you enjoy the book! (I'm guessing you could write the second edition, ha ha.)
This is an awesome idea! I would love to win, especially with the upcoming holidays and so any people I want to spoil with gifts!
Great give away!! Can't wait to get my hands on the book! 🙂
Thanks so much, Jamie! So excited that YOU'RE excited!
What a beautiful prize pack... I absolutely LOVE making pretty packages! Great idea for an eBook!
The best gift I ever received was my first digital camera! No more film!! Ok, and maybe my iPhone that I got for Christmas 2 yrs ago. Not very meaningful gifts, but favorites!!
I think it's meaningful! Especially considering all the meaningful moments you'll capture and share!
I love your blog! It is always so cute and helpful!
What a wonderful gift giveaway~ I would be so happy to get any of the goodies. I too love to give gifts but often ponder forever on what is the perfect thing. I can see how her e-book could be very helpful. Thanks for the chance of winning!
Every year my husband buys me a book for Christmas. It's usually not a best seller, but a fantastic book he found while reading the dust covers of many.
This is awesome, Abby! Definitely going to snag a copy of Lauren's book.
Eek! Yay! Can't wait to hear what you think of it, Cat.
My most meaningful gift I've received would probably be a quilt handmade for me by my grandmother when I moved out on my own for the first time. She used my favorite colors and made a beautiful quilt that I hope will be treasured by my children and theirs after I'm long gone.
I love getting the gifts my kids get me at the school santa shop!
I think the most meaningful gift I've ever received is for trips with my family. The "stuff" I get doesn't even come close to the quality time I love getting to spend with them.
What a fun giveaway! Hope to win!
My favorite gifts to give (or receive!) are gifts of an experience, rather than a thing. Spending time with friends and family is where it's at!
What a cool book! I'm always looking for ideas on giving meaningful gifts, would be awesome to win!
This is such a cute basket! Love love love!
The most meaningful gift I've ever received was a little book made by my husband about the story of our relationship. So sweet and thoughtful!
I would love to get this prize! If I don't win I might just go get the things in the basket anyway:)
My husband jokes I should be a personal gift buyer because I get such joy out of spoiling friends and family. Love this giveaway basket it would make it that much simpler.
I think giving a meaningful gift is so special for both the giver and receiver. I try to be very thoughtful when giving gift to anyone.
I've always loved the things my kids make for me. The book looks interesting. Thanks for the chance to win it.
I've recei many great gifts in my life, but honestly I prefer giving gifts!,
The most meaningful gift I have ever received was my engagement ring almost 20 years ago 🙂
I would love to give this to my sister who is so creative!
For my 21st birthday, my mom made a homemade basket filled with 21 of my favorite things.
It really is better to give than receive. Winning this would make it extra fun!
Most meaningful gift would have to be my engagement ring. We've been married 27 years, but that is still pretty special. 🙂
I love when my kids make handmade Christmas ornaments at school and wrap them up and give them to me as gifts, those are the most meaningful gifts.
Sweet giveaway! I'm always looking for gift ideas!
The most meaningful gift I've received was a scrapbook my best friend compiled for me. She included pictures chronicling the first ten years of our friendship- from our adventures in college (e.g. spontaneous road trip to Punxsutawney on Groundhog Day) to weddings, babies and our cross-country visits to each other's now "grown up" homes- "grown up" in "" simply because both of us still wonder at our adulthood even though we're about to enter our 30s) 🙂
This is a great giveaway!
Thanks a lot for this incredible give, I hope that I will be winner 🙂 Your blog give's me a lot of ideas, Thank you
Giving gifts at Christmas and anytime is one of my favorite ways to be creative. I like to make the wrapping and presentation of the present a part of the gift. It is fun to find colors of bags and papers that the person really likes and then add interesting things like small pinecones, twigs, feathers, seashells, and various other things to make the decoration more individualized. I do this with the envelopes for the greeting card that goes with the present, too. All that being said, I can hardly wait to begin wrapping for this year.
The most meaningful gift I ever received was a photo book of all my parents old photos from their younger days!
One year Santa himself woke us up on Christmas morning with new bikes for all the kids!
Thanks for this opportunity.
What a great give-away! It would be fun to wrao gifts with all these fun supplies!
putting thought and time into a gift for someone makes it so much better and personal!!!
oh and finding the perfect wrapping paper/ or paper to diy and make the best wrapping paper is something i look forward to every year:)

What a fun gift!!!!!
Thanks for hosting, Abby! This looks like a great ebook!
What a fun giveaway! Thanks!
Barbie Dream House. It sounds like a superficial answer, and it somewhat is, but there was so much more to it.
I would be thrilled to win this! Thank you so much for offering such a fun and generous giveaway.
I love this idea!
I just love this time of year. Warm clothes come out, hot toddies get enjoyed and the magic comes alive!
The most meaningful was the Mom's necklace from my children.
I love giving unique and thoughtful gifts, but it isn't always easy to come up with ideas. I would love winning the prize and getting some new ideas and inspiration.

One year on Valentine's day my husband made a tape recording of himself telling me all the reasons he loved me. He also left a mix tape with all our songs on it in my seat! So when I went to work..I got to listen to him and then listen to all our songs.
I love both of your blogs so much and am so excited about yalls books. What an accomplishment.
A framed copy of a poem my Grandma had written along with a 4 leaf clover she had found
