An Organized Coffee Station and an Organized Smoothie Station

We created an organized coffee station and an organized smoothie station to help our morning routines go more smoothly and to really maximize the storage space in our kitchen!

I’m always on the lookout for ways to make our organization systems better and better. I recently reorganized our kitchen, and I was happy with the result, but as we lived with it for a little while, I began to notice a few spots that could be improved even more.

Ever since we moved in, we’ve kept our coffee making supplies next to the fridge. They fit well there, so that was their home for a little over a year.

But one morning as I watched Donnie make his coffee, I realized that he was traveling back and forth across the kitchen in order to fill up the Keurig tank at the sink and then put it back.

A few minutes later, I went to make my smoothie, the supplies for which were right near the sink. And I ended up walking back and forth across the kitchen to get water and ice from the fridge for my smoothie.

Can you see where this is going? 😉

It would make so much more sense to have the coffee station near the sink and the smoothie station near the fridge (and have an excuse to make each one extra organized at the same time)!

I decided to make the swap, and I’m excited to show you how both our organized coffee station and our organized smoothie station turned out today!

An Organized Coffee Station and an Organized Smoothie Station

Our Organized Coffee Station

How to Create an Organized Coffee Station

Let’s take a look at our organized coffee station first! To give you an idea of the new setup, here is a shot of the full kitchen. You can see that the Keurig and coffee supplies are now over by the sink, and the Magic Bullet that I use to make my smoothies is next to the fridge.

I try to keep the counters fairly clear so they don’t look cluttered, but I couldn’t help but add a cute menu board that I made using a chalkboard I already had + some vinyl wording that I had cut with my Silhouette machine.

I also wanted to keep essentials like creamer and sugar close at hand (along with marshmallows for the boys!), but since the original containers didn’t look very pretty sitting out, I transferred everything to these cute food storage bottles by InterDesign for a cohesive, organized look. I added vinyl labels so everyone could tell what was in each bottle.

All of our other coffee supplies fit neatly in a cabinet right above where the Keurig sits…

K-cup storage can be a bit of a challenge, particularly because Donnie likes the soft k-cups that you see in the photo, which don’t stack neatly. I was thrilled, then, when I found these awesome stacking bins from InterDesign that happened to be the perfect size for my space! They allowed me to separate our k-cups by type– coffee, tea, and hot chocolate– and maximize every inch of shelf space at the same time. I added vinyl labels so everyone could easily see which k-cups were which.

This was the only cabinet I had to organize our coffee supplies, and it is fairly narrow, so I knew I was really going to have to make the most of every shelf. I had switched to a single set of white mugs when I reorganized the kitchen so they would fit more uniformly in the cabinets, but I really didn’t want to stack them directly on top of one another and risk chipping or breaking one if they would shift.

I found the perfect solution by adding a simple stackable shelf, again from InterDesign, which allowed me to easily fit two rows of mugs instead of just the one.

Our travel mugs sit on the third shelf up, and then on the top shelf we keep the coffee supplies for our traditional coffee pot. The traditional coffee pot is stored in one of our high cabinets because we really only use it when we have guests over, so it was okay for the corresponding coffee and supplies to be up higher as well.

I used InterDesign’s Linus vanity organizers to corral the bags of ground coffee as well as our coffee supplies, making it really easy to just pull them down and grab what we need when we break out our other coffee pot.

I love that everything has a spot and is labeled and neatly organized! I don’t drink coffee myself (Donnie drinks enough of it for the both of us! 😉 ), but I still think this is my new favorite cabinet in our kitchen!!

How to Create an Organized Smoothie Station

Now let’s move over to our newly organized smoothie station! I don’t like to keep the Magic Bullet and toaster sitting out on the counter at all times, so I put them on a tray so I could easily tuck them out of the way when I want to clear off the counter.

Home Organization- Beautifully Organized Coffee Station, Smoothie Station, kitchen organization, organized kitchen, coffee bar, coffee cabinet, smoothie bar, smoothie cabinet, InterDesign, organizing, acrylic containers, declutter, decluttering, neat and tidy kitchen, storing smoothie supplies

I used to have the coffee mugs in this cabinet beside the fridge, but since we moved them over to the other side of the kitchen, I now had a full shelf for my smoothie supplies! I sorted all of the cups by type so we can easily grab the type we need…

…and then I used a few InterDesign bins to corral the smoothie making accessories. A smaller version of the stacking bins holds all of the cup rims, and if we ever get more I can simply add another small bin on top of the existing one, leaving me room to grow. I also grabbed a little utensil tray to corral the blades for the Magic Bullet so they weren’t floating all over the shelf.

The boys really love to use straws, so I actually used a container that was meant to hold hair accessories to hold all of their colorful straws, and it ended up being a perfect fit! I added matching labels to everything and my smoothie shelf was good to go!

For my smoothie powders, I grabbed a few InterDesign airtight pantry bins, labeled them, and put them in a drawer right below the Magic Bullet, which had been freed up when I moved the coffee supplies. These bins are a great size, and they’re also stackable, so if I ever wanted to use them in a tall cabinet or in the pantry, I could stack them on top of one another as well.

I love that everything I need to make my smoothies is all in this one spot in the mornings, and Donnie and I are no longer crossing back and forth in the kitchen to make our drinks of choice! 🙂

Smoothie Station Supplies

It really is amazing how having the right organizing pieces can make such a huge difference in making a space feel tidy and uncluttered. I was always feeling like I had to search far and wide to find the exact pieces I needed, but when I discovered InterDesign, they became the very first place I searched when I was organizing a new space because they have so many organizers in all different shapes and sizes.

The easiest way to find InterDesign’s products is to search for “InterDesign” on Amazon, Target, The Container Store, Walmart, or Bed, Bath, and Beyond— I am always amazed (and also slightly giddy! 😉 ) at all of the options they have available!

  1. These are great ideas. The organization looks amazing and I might need to rearrange my kitchen now. Now that I think about it I’m constantly criss-crossing the kitchen when making my bullet proof coffee as well as my Shakeology.

Thank you so much for your sweet words, Tina! It took me a while to realize we were criss-crossing too, lol! Hope you’re having a great week!

Love it!! So pretty and neat . . at one time I had a breakfast bar set up on my kitchen table with all sorts of toppings for cereal, etc (think coconut, walnut buts, raisins . .). It was so nice and made mornings easier . . and healthier too!!

Thank you so much, Karen! That breakfast bar sounds so cute! Love that idea!!

  3. I’ve recently decluttered my kitchen to have a lot more counter space because my kitchen is so small. And it makes such a HUGE difference to the whole feel of the space.

I desperately want a coffee machine (if you can hear me Santa!!) because I currently make my morning coffee using an on-the-hob traditional espresso maker. Your coffee maker looks like a great size! Not too big and bulky. As size is a major factor for my tiny kitchen!!

And I’ve recently bought a Nutri Ninja which I’m MADLY IN LOVE with!! But because it’s a tad large, I keep it in a high cupboard out of the way.
I love the way you’ve organised your drinking stations! Definitely something I can aspire too!

Thank you so much, Elisa! Sounds like you’re doing a great job of keeping your space uncluttered and organized! Fingers crossed that Santa hears you on that coffee maker! 😉 Hope you’re having a wonderful week!

Love this!! Where did you find your try for your toaster? Have a great weekend and thank you for sharing!!

    1. justagirlabby says:

Thank you so much, Rebecca! The tray was from Wayfair. Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!

  5. What protein powder do you use.?

    1. justagirlabby says:

The one that’s in there now is the Gold Standard Double Rich Chocolate! 🙂 Hope you’re having a great week, Alison!

  6. OMGosh! You use Shakeology! What would we do without it!

    1. justagirlabby says:

Seriously! I make a shake every day! 🙂 Hope you’re having a great day, Suzanne!

      1. Ditto. My favorite is adding almond butter to the chocolate! Amazing what brings people together. Happy Halloween Abby.

You have a stunning kitchen. The angled island is a stroke of genius to make good use of the entire space. The dark wood floors warm up the white and the sparsely used pops of turquoise play off both the white and the floor. Good job! I love me some organisation (yes that’s how we aussies spell it).

    1. justagirlabby says:

Aw, thanks so much! I love it, too! 🙂 Have a great week!

  8. It all looks beautiful! Including the kitchen light swap out with the hallway lights–you’re right, as soon as I looked at the before kitchen photo for the first time, all I saw first was huge black lanterns! The only thing I wonder about in the kitchen now is why all your cooking utensils are in the corner nearer the sink than the stove. Seems like the coffee station would be better in that corner by the sink and the utensils closer to the stove. But, that may have had to do with cabinet space/type available too.. I absolutely love the organization and pretty touches! Your kitchen is just awesome!

I have a very much humbler home than yours and a 1928 kitchen with such a small amount of cabinetry, that I put a large old sideboard cabinet where the cook stove once sat. I tried a Hoosier that I had but it was too deep and stuck out into the traffic area too much so this sideboard works much better even though the Hoosier was the perfect touch looks-wise.. I love my old house though with it’s all original farmhouse sink, ironing board cabinet, claw foot tub, and doors/trim, never painted, It was a one family builder/owners so kept all original.. P.S. My coffee/tea/protein powders, blender, etc. are all in one bottom corner lazy susan cupboard with the coffee pot on the counter, so that works well for me.

Your home sounds so beautiful with a lot of great character, Barb! Hope you’re having a wonderful week!

  9. I am always so inspired by your organization posts! I love the coffee station and your smoothie mixes in the drawers – so clever! I may steal your idea of putting your kitchen utensils in pretty pitchers on a tray! That looks so nice and neat!

    1. justagirlabby says:

Aw, thanks so much, Amanda! Glad they are helpful for you! Happy Monday! <3

  10. I didn’t notice the morning kitchen criss-cross happens in our home until you mentioned your own. It is just the way of the morning 🙂 Now I am thinking of ways to re-organize my kitchen space and your article has inspired some ideas. Thanks!

    1. justagirlabby says:

Isn’t it funny how that happens? We do so many things without even really thinking about it! Happy re-organizing! 🙂

      ~Abby =)

  11. Jessica Elliott says:

Absolutely gorgeous! I use the same general concept, but it’s not near as lovely. We call it the “drink cabinet.” One stop shop for everything drink-related. It’s worked really well for 16-years, so I’m not changing it. Although…I might need to up the style a little after these inspiring photos!

    1. justagirlabby says:

Thanks so much, Jessica! A drink cabinet is a great idea… love that! Thanks for sharing. Hope you’re having a great week! <3

      ~Abby =)

  12. Living in NY, space is tight. So this is a great idea. I’m going to work with my husband on giving our coffee station a look over this weekend and change it up a little. Thanks!

    1. justagirlabby says:

      Oh, good! Happy organizing! <3
