My Littlest Loves

I will look for any excuse to take some cute pictures with my sweet little Cs, so one day after church we headed down to a little trail in our area, and I did my best to corral the troops long enough to get a few shots.

One of these days we may even get a picture where everyone is looking at the camera at the same time, but today is clearly not that day. 🙂

When I look at these little guys of mine, I am always in complete awe of the amazing people they are and are growing to be. I really never thought I would be a boy mom. I only had a sister, I mostly babysat for girls, and I am super girly myself, so I always assumed that I’d have a bunch of little girls.

Then this guy arrived, and I was totally smitten.

I mean, how could I not be with that adorable face?! I had absolutely no idea how to raise boys, but Connor quickly gave me an education in that area. He is 110% boy. I remember going to new places with him when he was a toddler and rushing around trying to beat him to all of the breakable items in the room to get them out of his reach before he could get to them. He was a climber, a runner, a jumper, a squealer, and an all-around wild man when he was tiny!

As he’s gotten older, Con has become the most kind-hearted, thoughtful, and caring 6 year-old I know. He’s still definitely all boy and has much more energy than I ever will, but he channels it into his love for life and love for other people, and it is such a joy to watch him grow up. And oh is he smart. This boy is already giving me a run for my money, and he’s only in kindergarten!

As Connor matured, someone had to take over the job of “resident wild man” in our family, and little Caleb accepted the role with glee!

Tiny and mischievous with a smile always on his face, Caleb made our family complete, and I don’t even remember what life was like without him. He pretends to be shy, but once he gets comfortable, he starts talking a mile a minute and won’t let you get a word in edgewise. 🙂

You will hardly ever see a picture of him without a treasure or two in his hand. He even walked down the aisle at my sister’s wedding holding a few of his “guys.” Caleb is definitely the baby of the family– he’s a terrible cleaner upper, he expects to get his way every time, and his little demeanor is so stinkin’ adorable that you can’t be mad at him for any of it.

Connor has always been Caleb’s protector and helper. He watches out for him any time we go anywhere and is always reaching stuff for his little brother or helping him get what he needs. It warms my heart to see how Caleb relies on Connor and trusts him so much.

One of the greatest joys of being a boy mom is getting to see how much these brothers love each other. Sure, they have their share of fights, but at the end of the day, they are truly best friends.

I knew it wouldn’t be long before our calm photo shoot got a little crazy! Caleb may be small, but he is usually the instigator when it comes to brother wrestling matches. He has no fear!

Though I never expected to be a boy mom, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. God knew exactly what I needed when he gave me these two little guys, and they have completely stolen my heart.

Another perk of having boys– they sure do love their mama! <3

I have two little boys and feel the same way. Our little one is always wrestling his big brother. Our older son is always so kind and laid back that he just lets his brother jump on him. But at the end of the day the love they show each other makes me beyond happy and I also feel truly blessed to be a boy mom. I agree too, my boys are all about their mom and it is pretty nice being the only girl in the house.

This was the one topic that had me kind of glad I was wrapped up in my March Madness series when this idea came about lol. I can share projects all day long, but my style? I too am a girly girl and always imagined I would have girls, but nope. God gave me two sweet boys and I love it. Your boys are getting so big…and they are such cuties! And you are rockin those skinny jeans and kitten heel pumps. 😉

Lol! Thank you, friend! Yes, I am much more comfortable with DIY projects, that’s for sure! Congrats on completing your whole 31 days! That is so impressive!

  4. Loving this series! I have two girls-6 and 8-and just added a baby boy to our mix in January. I’m so excited about being a boy-mom.

PS: Is jeans-and-a-tshirt a syle?? If so, I’ve got that in spades! My poor girls have to go to their aunt for real fashion advice 🙂

Congrats on your new little guy! How sweet!

And yes, it sounds like you and I have a very similar style– jeans and a t-shirt ftw!! 😉 Have a wonderful day, Courtney!

I am the same way with style, which I feel is a bad sign for the future. I am only 29, still in the realm of should know what is “in”. But, I just don’t know. I am a feminine low maintenance chick with my style. I like sun dresses or jeans and t-shirts. Makeup, hair, in style clothes? I am blissfully unaware of how bad I am. I do know my kid’s have better clothes then me. Each season they get a new wardrobe because they grow so fast, they are in style. My oldest is a girl and then my two boys are only 17 months apart. They are each other’s shadows and best friend. They both attend preschool. One in K3 and the other in K4. They gravitate towards each other, the older one assists the younger with everything, including getting a paper towel. The younger one is good to get his brother to loosen up and get silly. I love seeing the relationship with all three of my kids, it is so sweet and I am so happy they have each other. Your boy’s are adorable, I love that they just had to start rolling around. Nice picture is over, time to get dirty.

  6. I’m not a mum (far from it at the moment) but this post made me teary. You have beautiful boys!
