“Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”
Name that movie! And bonus points if you can give me the name of the character who said it! I always feel nostalgic about back-to-school time. There’s something exciting about a new year, a fresh start, and so many possibilities, even if I’m not heading back to school myself. So in honor of this time of year, I decided to put together some of my favorite back-to-school projects from around blogland. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! {Please click through and pin from the original source. Thanks! 🙂 }

Ooh now I really want to run out and buy some school supplies, don’t you?! {Can you tell I was a nerd in school? ;)} Thanks so much for stopping by the round up. Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
(Oh, and the movie quote? That would be Tom Hanks as Joe Fox to Meg Ryan as Kathleen Kelly in You’ve Got Mail–such a classic!)
Have you created a fantastic back-to-school project? Share your link in the comments so we can check it out!
I link up at these fun parties!
“You’ve Got Mail” – Joe Fox (aka Tom Hanks)! I get giddy over school supplies (even though, as a teacher, it means my 8 weeks of freedom are over), and your assortment is quite fun! 🙂
You win!! You’re the first one to get the answer! 😉 I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets giddy over school supplies! Happy back-to-school!
~Abby =)
I’m so disappointed in myself for missing that movie quote! lol I love that movie. Anyway, great round up. I tried the caramel apple dip last year for Christmas gifts, and they were really good. I’m definitely going to have to give some of these other projects a try. Thanks for sharing, Abby!
I LOVE that movie!!! It’s one I can watch over and over and over!! LOL!! Wonderful post, Abby! I love the ruler table runner! I think it would be great in a craft room too!! Have a great day!~~Ang
Oooh I love the idea of using it in a craft room! You’re always thinking, Miss Angela! Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Great post Abby! I love fall- and all the things that come along with it. If I could I’d keep the weather all year round! Hope you are having a great week and have fun getting ready for school!
P.S. I loved your clip board project- H laughed and said, “why would you decorate a clipboard…it’s a clipboard.” My response was, “Because it’s fun! And awesome! And makes the kids like their school stuff more!” Moms just operate on a different plane of existence!
Oh, men! They just don’t “get it.” 😉 My hubby raises his eyebrows at half the projects I attempt, but I just remind him, “Happy wife, happy life!” Lol. Have a great weekend, Misti!
~Abby =)

Hi! This is my first comment on your blog. I’m super enjoying what I’m reading! And yes, I TOTALLY get your love for school supplies. I was the same. Didn’t really love school but going back to school shopping was the highlight of the end of my summer! I STILL miss it and it’s been a decade! Working at Walmart doesn’t help either. I walk past all the cute supplies daily and I have to restrain myself from buying a pretty new pen or a fun-coloured folder!
Thanks for the great ideas!
Thank you so much for reading, Renee! I totally hear you on the school supplies– if I worked at Walmart I think they would just have to keep my whole check because I’d buy every supply in the aisle! 😉 I am LOVING visiting your country right now, btw! Today my four-year-old asked me, “Mom, can we move to Canada?” Obviously, he’s a fan too! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
~Abby =)
The ruler wreath is adorable (I also love the ruler table runner). Plus the free fonts… AWESOME!
Thanks so much!
xoxo
Those were some of my favorites too, Jennifer! Hope you have a great weekend!
~Abby =)
Great roundup Abby! I have to pin the free printables… Want to do a back to school mantel but there is another long story there…. Like, first, I need a mantel:) I am in denial about back to school still… We start here the day after labour day and I’m not ready to let summer go yet… because it means back to school for me too! Thanks for sharing these fun ideas friend!
Oh, that’s true! I bet it’s hard to give up the freedom of your summers! I know that you are a fantastic teacher, though, so your students are so lucky to get you back! Hope you had a great week, friend!
