Pastel Christmas Decor in the Sunroom

This pastel Christmas decor in the sunroom just goes to show that you don’t have to stick to a traditional color scheme to be festive during the holidays! Get inspiration for your own holiday decorating in this post.

Pastel Christmas Decor in the Sunroom

It’s Christmas Home Tour day! This is truly one of my favorite posts of the year! Our sunroom is all ready for the season, and I can’t wait for you to see it, so c’mon in!

Pastel Christmas Decor in a Sunroom / Morning Room

Though this is the third Christmas that we’ve had our tree in the sunroom, this room is looking a little different this year. Donnie has been hard at work in this space framing out the windows with craftsman style trim, and it has made such a huge difference!

I loved it so much that I decided not to put the curtains back up because I didn’t want to hide any of it, and we are so enjoying the new light, bright, and airy feel!

Without the curtains, I felt like the windows needed a little *something* Christmas-y, but I didn’t want to block out the view that makes this room our favorite one in the house.

I ended up going with some simple wreaths hanging between the windows, and they gave us our little bit of holiday cheer without blocking the scenery! 🙂

This is the first year that I’ve done a flocked tree, and it kind of happened by accident. I didn’t intend to get a new tree, but when I brought up the one that we had been using for the past few years and put it up, and it looked kind of like the artificial version of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Eeek.

A bunch of the lights were burnt out. There were spots that looked thinner than I remembered, and the top part was looking a little crooked for some reason.

I was going to try to hide it under bunches and bunches of ribbon, but at the last second I decided to take a risk and try this flocked tree instead, and I’m so glad I did!

Pretty in Pastels

With my love of white, I should have known that it would be a match made in heaven. And it was the perfect backdrop for something I’ve always wanted to try– pastel Christmas decor!!!

Pastel Christmas Tree Detail

I had someone ask me recently how I get away with so much pink and aqua in my house full of boys. And the answer is that they are very patient and love me a lot.

I guess they figure that I spend most of my time in hockey rinks, discussing Power Rangers and Pokemon cards, and listening attentively to fishing stories, so they can at least let me decorate the way I want! They truly are such good sports about it. 🙂

I found most of the pastel ornaments at Hobby Lobby (for 50% off– woot!) and filled in the gaps with some silver, gold, and white baubles that I already had.

I’ve always been a fan of bows. You should have seen my wedding (13 years ago this December 23rd!)– bows everywhere! So I was sure to grab a bunch of ribbon and add a bunch of bows to the sunroom as well. (Because why not make it even more girly?!)

Christmas Sunroom at Night

I love Christmas decor during the day, but at night it can be downright magical, so I had to snap a few shots in the dark as well.

Pastel Christmas Decor at Night

This room is one of our favorites to hang out in at any time of year, but I’ve noticed that we tend to drift in here even more often when the tree lights are sparkling!

One of these days I’m going to figure out an excuse to have twinkle lights up all year long…

I mean, is there anything better than tree light bokeh?! 🙂
