A Decked + Styled Christmas Hutch

Hi, friends! I am so excited to be sharing my Christmas hutch! I’m so glad you’re here!

We just moved into our new house in September, so this will be our first Christmas here, and we are very excited about it! Though the house is different, I’m still keeping the tradition of decorating my grandmother’s hutch for each holiday, so today I thought I’d show you the Christmas version!

Classic Christmas Hutch Decor

I’m using a red, silver, black, and white color scheme for our Christmas decor this year, and my little hutch is no exception! I was able to fill it with mostly pieces I had on hand this time around, which was a bonus. One of my favorite pieces is the red lantern on the top shelf…

It actually belonged to my husband Donnie when he was a child, and when he brought home a box of his old mementos from his parents’ house a few weeks ago, I snagged it up to use as part of my holiday decor! 🙂

The potted plants may be faux, but the other greenery is very, very real! My dad is a major outdoorsman, so every year I ask him to gather up some greenery for me from the woods when he’s out. This year he hit the jackpot and found some beautiful, delicate evergreen branches that even had cute mini pinecones attached. They were perfect since I have pinecones scattered throughout the rest of my Christmas decor as well!

I love this cute little bike and bring it out every year at Christmastime. My boys (ages 5 & 7) also love it and are always trying to snag it so they can play with it.

My little mini nutcracker is another thing they love to try to swipe. He was a Target Dollar Spot find last year (as was the Merry Christmas sign you see peeking into the shot above), and is making an appearance this year as well.

I have a definite weakness for the flower section at Trader Joe’s– I can never seem to walk past it without grabbing at least one bouquet! They had the most gorgeous red roses the other day, and I couldn’t pass them up for my Christmas hutch display.

That about wraps it up! I will be sharing the rest of my Christmas dining room on Thursday, so be sure to come back for that… you can see a little sneak peek in the photo below!

I love how crisp everything looks against the whites. Red is my favorite to decorate with at Christmas time. Also, you must be better at snagging those Target dollar spot goodies than I am. I think maybe my Target is just a hot spot and it sells out super fast. The hutch looks amazing! I’m loving these little peaks into the new house.

Abby your hutch is drop dead gorgeous!!! I love the white and red ! It looks so festive and fun. If I hadn’t already decorated coastal in my dining room, I would be taking a que from your hutch and adding pops of red 🙂

Abby, your home ALWAYS looks stunning, but I just love the personal touches to this hutch. The red lantern couldn’t be more perfect for holiday decor and it’s made extra special by the connection to Donnie’s childhood. I have a typewriter (it’s huge!) that I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate into our regular decor that I inherited from my grandfather after he passed. I used to sit on his lap and type on it sometimes when he and Grandma were babysitting us, so it’s got a ton of sentimental value. It’s a bit of a beast though, so it definitely poses a design challenge.

Anyways, now that I’ve digressed off topic. I can’t wait to breath new life into our dining room hutch so I can make it as beautiful as yours one day. It’s on the (very lengthy) DIY to do list. Happy Holidays!

Thank you so much, Megan! That typewriter sounds awesome! Can’t wait to see what you do with it! Have a great day!

It’s beautiful! I love the splash of red. I used red berry garland this year to bring a splash of red throughout my home.this year. It’s the first one I found a tree that is narrow enough to place in the center of my main floor so we can enjoy the tree from all areas of the home. It’s definitely my favorite part of decorating this year.
