13 Bright and Bold Furniture Makeovers {Domestic Superhero}
Hey there, friends! If you’re new around here and are wondering why I have so many other people posting on my blog lately, it’s because I had surgery a few weeks ago, and these sweet and talented ladies were kind enough to help me out while I’m recovering! I have loved sharing their talent with you, and today I’m excited to introduce Allyson from Domestic Superhero! Not only does Allyson share amazing DIY projects and delicious recipes, she recently cooked up an extra special DIY– she had a new baby boy! Congrats to her, and a big thank you for taking time out of her busy new mama schedule to visit with us today!
_______
Hey y’all! My name is Allyson, and I am so excited to be guest blogging for Abby today! Abby and I go way back in the blogging world, and I have literally been following her blog since she started blogging! I have my own blog, Domestic Superhero, where I blog a lot about food and cooking, and a little about everything else (crafts, DIY projects, life).
When Abby asked me to guest blog for her, I was more than excited; I thought I would probably do a recipe. However, since Just a Girl and Her Blog is focused more on DIY etc., I decided to do a roundup of my favorite BRIGHTLY Painted Bold Furniture Makeovers! There is a little bit of everything here, and I think if you are considering making the leap to a brightly colored piece, you should just do it! I painted a dresser yellow a few years ago, and it was so hard to bite the bullet and do it, and so many people told me not to do it, but guess what?! I get more compliments on that yellow TV console than any other piece of painted furniture in my house!
Be bold! Be exciting! Be colorful! So here is my roundup of some wonderfully bright colored painted furniture!

Weren’t those gorgeous? Makes me want to go grab a paint brush and a bright bucket of paint and go crazy on the first piece of furniture I come across! 😀 To see some of Allyson’s own projects and recipes, be sure to head over to Domestic Superhero, and follow her on social media, too, so you don’t miss a thing! Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for having me today, Abby!
Thank YOU for the great roundup, friend! Hope you’re enjoying your new little guy! Have a wonderful Sunday!

Thanks, Allyson and Abby! This will definitely be a fall project…after painting and staining the deck and trellis! So a quick design question for you…I love painted furniture but never really had the nerve. I recently painted my fireplace surround a bright-ish green (sounds horrid but it turned out great). Would it be too much to put a piece of painted furniture in the same room. It is a small bungalow. I would love to know what you think… Have a great day! ~Julie
Thank you, Julie! It’s definitely a matter of personal preference, but I think you could get away with it. If the surround is bright, I might go with a more muted or neutral tone to balance it out. Hope this helps! Enjoy your Sunday!

Great ideas! Now I totally want to go find some furniture to paint!
I hear ya! She picked some great transformations! Thanks for stopping by, Heidi! Enjoy your Sunday!

Love all of these bright and colorful transformations!
Thanks, friend! Hope you guys had fun at the wedding and a safe trip home! So great to see you this weekend!

Sorry I missed to wish you luck with your surgery and all these great ladies. We have been getting unpacked and settled in the new house, FINALLY!!! I am happy to hear you are healing and everything went well. Must be such a relief to have that behind you and not to have to worry everyday about all of these issues.
Cindy
Congrats on the new house, Cindy! So exciting! I’m feeling better every day! And you’re so right– it’s nice not having to worry about having cancer all the time! 🙂 Enjoy your Sunday!

You’ve inspired me!! It makes me want to transform my old (I’m sure it was white at some point) dresser.
Last year I did paint a shelf in our bathroom bright pink! Truly we need to redo the whole room… but it gave it a splash of joy and color.
The roundup was wonderful thank you!!
Love a pretty pop of color! Can’t wait to see your dresser if you decide to update it! Enjoy your Sunday, friend!
~Abby =)
Someone give me a can of pink paint! I think I need to makeover my dresser again! 😀

I have been STALKING furniture makeovers so this is perfect!!! I love all the fun colors incorporated in the pieces!! Thanks for the inspiration!
She certainly picked some great ones! I can’t wait to see what furniture makeovers you have up your sleeve, Selene! Enjoy your Sunday!

Hope you are feeling better, Abby! Great roundup, Allyson! I totally want to go paint something now. 😀
Winner! This list of furniture makeover is definitely inspiring, I’d have to say. I really like the furniture with pink colors, I can’t help myself not to get excited about it. These pieces of furniture totally give our house an extra accent and elegance. This is a must share!
Hi Abby,
Thank you so much for sharing your story. Like so many others, I just happened to see your beautiful and cheerful furniture and then saw your blog. I am not even sure of how a blog works. I do hope you are on the mend and feeling better everyday. You are inspirational.
I am not handy at all so I hope that some day I will have the courage to paint some furniture as well. Until then, I am getting a lot of pleasure looking at all the lovely pieces in the pictures.
Take care of yourself and have a great weekend.
Aw, thanks so much, Neve! Hope you’re having a wonderful week! <3
